Kitea is a Japanese singer known for her distinctive, charming low voice and powerful emotional expression. She has experience performing live on stage and continues to captivate audiences with a voice and presence that transcend traditional expectations.

In 2025, Kitea performed a Japanese standard song at the Japan Singers Association’s U.S. Festival in Los Angeles. She also appeared at an international jazz festival in Singapore alongside renowned tenor saxophonist Hidehiko Matsumoto.

Kitea’s musical journey is especially remarkable because she underwent an upper-jaw amputation following a diagnosis of maxillary cancer. Despite this life-changing experience, she never lost her passion for singing. Her deep, expressive voice and extraordinary resilience have inspired audiences and drawn comparisons to male vocalists, including Charlie Lustman, who also underwent an upper-jaw amputation after battling a rare upper-jaw cancer.

Although Kitea has not yet released an original recording, she is actively pursuing her dream of creating and releasing her first single. She is also currently enrolled in an online certificate program through Berkeley, continuing to expand her knowledge and skills while developing her career as an artist.
